Character Pics- Romania
We started going to Romania in 1992. There was so much need everywhere in the country. There was a strong sense of hopelessness . The infastructure was in poor shape. Poverty was a way of life with the majority. Over the following years we saw progress to a better life. It was rewarding in 2003 to see many of the people we had helped for years finally in a position to help others. Our next visit back will be to attend a wedding.
The two colourful young women are gypsy's - we came upon them routing through garbage behind the concrete wall. They poised for the pic.
The lady selling flowers. The man with the cat.

can't wait to go with you someday dad!
Your trips always sound so interesting and enlightening. I'm hoping to go to Zimbabwe in October on a short term mission trip..that will be my first time..here's to hoping and praying.
I must say, when I first looked at those two women I thought they were men in drag...they are very "strong" looking...must be the struggle to survive. BooBoo did a term paper on Roma for one of her cultural communication/missions classes...very interesting culture!
Keep posting pictures from your travels. I love seeing them.
